The Railway service is provided by
Trenitalia; the railway connects Nettuno to Rome (Roma Termini) with the
Regional Service.
Ticket office
Tickets for train, bus and Rome's public transport can be bought at the
Ticket office in the Station (Piazza IX Settembre).
How to use tickets
There are three kind of tickets: Railway ticket, Atac ticket (for Rome),
and Metrebus integrated ticket.
You can use a Railway ticket only for Trenitalia train services.
Every ticket has a number according to the distance (in km) they can be used
for. For example, it takes a 60 km ticket to get Rome from Nettuno. Every
Railway ticket is no return (so you have to buy two tickets for return).
You also need Atac tickets to use the public transport of Rome. There are
standard tickets (expiring in 70 minutes) and daily tickets (valid until the
end of the day in which they are voided). There are weekly or three-days
tickets, too.
Metrebus tickets can be used for all kind of public transport according to
the area they can be used for. Our Region Lazio is divided in five zone:
from A (made up of the entire extension of the City of Rome), to E (which
includes the cities at the edge of Lazio). In this way it is possible to
move between one or more areas with a flexible fare system.
If you want to visit Rome departing from Nettuno, you need a three-areas
Metrebus ticket (from A to C, which includes Nettuno). There are daily,
weekly, monthly or yearly Metrebus tickets.
Things to keep in mind
Please remember to void the tickets before departing. Don't void more than
once a Metrebus tickets; due to per-person nature of Metrebus ticket, you
must also write your name and your birth date on it.
Plaining your trip can be useful to choose the tickets. If you want to reach
Rome for a walk-thru journey, you can buy two Trenitalia tickets instead of
one daily Metrebus ticket, saving money. But if you want to visit Rome and
to move with the public transport many times in a day, it is better to use a
Metrebus daily ticket.
Because tourist places (such as some Rome's places) are crowded, please
beware of pickpockets. Don't leave alone your things on buses, trains or
subways, but is better to watch out for this risk everywhere.
